Chris Ferry gazed long into the abyss at the top of Peters Hill on the Roslindale side of the Arnold Arboretum this morning, rather than looking out over downtown Boston.
Down the hill, on the other side of Bussey Street, the fog began to envelope the trees:

…. thick grey flannel fog blanket that covered the outer harbor yesterday evening. For all I could tell, the ferry I was on was lost at sea. Never to be seen or heard of again.
