Since its start on Sunday, the 6 p.m. sing-a-long group in Woodbourne on the JP/Roslindale line has gotten pretty popular - somebody organizes the night's song and people have been coming out into the street to take part, socially distancing, of course. A man drove into 518 Hyde Park Ave. and hit a neighboring house around 9:45 p.m. Police are looking for a heavyset man, his face covered in blood, who ran away up Hyde Park Avenue towards Forest Hills - possibly after detaching the car's license plates. Hyde Park Avenue towards Forest Hills is currently shut.

Live Boston reports that when firefighters arrived at 38 Wellsmere Rd. in Roslindale around 4>25 p.m., they found flames shooting from a garage with drums full of chemicals. Read more.

Roslindale Village Main Street reports that Nathan Wright, a "former punk," will soon be opening the Intergalactic Trading Post at 65 Poplar St., where the Treasure Chest used to be:

Nathan's Intergalactic Trading Post will host Dungeons and Dragon games, potentially be a play space for young children, host art shows, and more.

The Boston Department of Neighborhood Development and the city Housing Innovation Lab say they've given up on the idea of putting an apartment building over the Taft Hill municipal parking lot in Roslindale Square - but will continue to look at ways of using other city property to increase the amount of affordable housing in Roslindale, a neighborhood they say have fallen below citywide averages. A progressive slate of 35 candidates, who include city councilors Michelle Wu and Ricardo Arroyo, today won control over the Ward 18 Democratic Ward Committee in Hyde Park, Mattapan and part of Roslindale over an old-guard slate that included former city councilors Steve Murphy and Rob Consalvo, unofficial city numbers show. Unofficial city returns show the slate of Trumpier-than-thous in Ward 20 (West Roxbury and a piece of Roslindale) have defeated the equally pro-Trump "moderate" slate that had controlled the Republican Ward Committee, 567-167, on a platform that included total Trump and ICE fealty, free paper bags at local supermarkets and a fight against bike lanes on Centre Street in West Roxbury (which the other slate also opposed). Although workers continue to clean up the damage from last week's burst pipe at the Roslindale Community Center, they've made enough progress that the Boston Elections Department reports it will be able to open a polling place on Tuesday for the Ward 19 voters originally scheduled to vote there.

A crash on Washington Street near Archdale Road shortly after 9 p.m. sent four people to local hospitals, two in bad enough shape to have the homicide units called in just in case.

The road is shut for the investigation.

Updated, 5 p.m.: The Roslindale Community Center School Council reports the building will be shut "indefinitely." The RMV urges people to make their way to other registry branches, such as the Haymarket and Watertown ones.

A pipe burst sometime overnight on the top floor of the Roslindale Community Center in Roslindale Square, flooding parts of the building, so both the community center and the Registry office in it are shut.
