Occultation of Mars

The Full Wolf Moon will occult Mars on Monday, January 13 from about 9:26pm to 10:42pm around Boston.
Best to tune in 10 or 15 minutes before the occultation to fully appreciate it.

A few hours after the moon rises in the East. It should line up nicely with Gemini (The Twins Castor and Pollux).
Hopefully the clouds won't spoil the show.
The sky is clear

The sky is clear and I was just able to see Mars very near the full moon. The occultation starts in a half-hour, so they are quite close and the brightness of the moon requires you to cover up the moon with something just to barely make out Mars.
I may go for another look closer to midnight after the occultation ends (at 10:42pm).
It's not so dazzling for Mars. The Moon is still the star of the show.
