Boston Police report officers responding to a report of gunfire last night in the area of the Martini Shell on Truman Parkway arrested a Hyde Park man they say had a gun loaded with 15 bullets.
Police say officers responding to the gunfire call around 11 p.m. "observed Berryman walking out of a wooded area" and chased him along Woodglen Road.
Upon approaching Berryman, Officers observed what appeared to be a handle of a firearm protruding from his bag. Following a foot chase and a struggle, Officers were able to take Berryman into custody and recovered a loaded firearm.
The firearm was determined to be a 9 mm Smith and Wesson handgun with one round in the chamber and fourteen rounds in the magazine.
Berryman was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, second and subsequent offense, unlawful possession of a loaded firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and resisting arrest.
Berryman was arrested on similar charges in Dorchester in 2014.
Innocent, etc.
