How hot was it today? Alyssa Boehm reports on some guy she saw this morning:
... I spotted a rather hirsute gentleman walking towards me on Commonwealth Avenue. He was wearing very nice trousers and carried a small gym bag. Draped over the bag was his shirt.
That's how I knew he was hairy - no freakin' shirt!
Look, I'm willing to over look the shirtless look for many, but a middle-aged businessman walking from his gorgeous brownstone to his fancy car (honestly) was a little too much. ...

I have the same pet peeve. I can't stand seeing men without their shirts walking around in public. It's part pure revulsion and part envy. The envy part is that women's bodies are demonized and considered obscene according to our culture, and I can't stand that.
Good point, Rhea, except for one thing:

Neither men's or women's chests should be exposed to public view, imo.
Surprisingly Enough

Humans have hair! Humans have flesh! We have body fat!
Not that one might think that given the skewed images of flesh that are considered "acceptable" in the popular media.
Humans sweat when it is hot and maybe some of the privileged ones amongst us can take off shirts in public without being accused of indecency or told that we deserve to be raped if we do so.
Big deal. Volunteer in an ER and you will get over this fast. At least Mr. Hair Suit wasn't covered in blood or vomit smelling of excessive alcohol consumption.
Agreed, Grrl

I say (excuse the expression) what's the big hairy deal? Personally, I find all human bodies - male, female - interesting. Are there some I'd prefer over others? Definitely. But I have never understood the "Oh, gross!" reactions to various stages of undress. It seems to me that the problem is with the beholder.
