Boston Police report officers with a search warrant arrested a Randolph man in an apartment on Cummins Highway in Mattapan Square, where they also found a loaded rifle, three guns and bags of coke, crack and fentanyl Wednesday morning.
Sean Brown, 29, of Randolph, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, second offense, unlawful possession of a loaded firearm, second offense and unlawful possession of ammunition, police say. He was not charged with possession of the drugs.
At his arraignment in Dorchester Municipal Court yesterday, Judge Jonathan Tynes ordered him held at least pending a dangerousness hearing on March 10.
According to police, officers went to 880 Cummins Highway around 8:40 a.m. on Wednesday:
Officers knocked and announced their presence, but no one came to answer the door. Officers could hear movement inside the apartment, and after a few minutes, an individual opened the door.
Officers secured the outside of the building, and observed a discarded firearm inside of a bucket. After further investigation, officers were able to determine that an individual inside of the apartment had discarded the firearm upon officers’ arrival.
The suspect was placed into handcuffs, and the apartment was secured pending a search warrant. The firearm recovered was later determined to be a Glock 37 with one round in the chamber and seven rounds in the magazine.
Innocent, etc.
