The Globe reports the man fell down a stairwell shaft yesterday morning.
The construction site, at 187 Sumner St. in Maverick Square, is the future home of a seven-story apartment building for senior citizens.
Both the federal OSHA and the Suffolk County District Attorney's office are investigating.

Every time I step out during my lunch hour and look up at the skyscraper being built outside my job at Gov. Ctr garage I admire the courage and skill of the construction workers. Scary job.
