Boston Police report arresting a 13-year-old and a 17-year-old on gun charges, along with four other people they were hanging out with inside an apartment building on Cabot Street in Roxbury yesterday evening.
Police say on patrol near in the area of Cabot and Ruggles streets spotted a guy they knew from past gun cases, around 6 p.m.
As Officers were driving near the male individual, when he took notice of officers’ presence and began walking to a side door at 100 Cabot Street. The individual was let inside of the building, which officers knew was not his residence.
Officers made entrance into the building from the front door, and observed a group of six individuals loitering in the stairwell where the side door was located. Officers were aware that the group did not reside there and was trespassing in the building.
After further investigation, officers conducted a pat frisk of the group. Officers were able to recover a firearm from the front pouch of one of the suspect’s hooded sweatshirt. Officers then observed a discarded red tote bag in the middle of the stairwell where the group was sitting. Officers pat frisked the bag and recovered a second firearm.
The firearms were later determined to be Taurus G2C with one round in the chamber and twelve rounds in the magazine, and a Smith & Wesson .357 Magnum with no rounds in the cylinder.
The 13-year-old, already wanted on a warrant for unarmed assault to rob, was charged as delinquent for unlawful possession of a loaded firearm, unlawful possession of a large-capacity feeding device, unlawful possession of ammunition and trespassing police say.
A 17-year-old was charged with being delinquent for unlawful possession of a firearm and trespassing, police say, adding she already had a warrant out for larceny over $1,200.
Four other people, two 16, were also arrested, on charges of trespassing, police say.
