A DCR worker discovered a man's body in the Muddy River in the area of the Bowker overpass around 10 a.m. today, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.
A tentative identification has been made based on a missing-person's report, the DA's office says, adding foul play does not appear to have been involved.
It's the same general location where bodies were found in June and March.
Authorities have also recovered three bodies from the Charles River this year, in May, June and August, although the August recovery was the result of a suicide that other people witnessed.
Some partial human remains were also recovered in June, but State Police said at the time that was related to a specific criminal investigation already underway, not a new body.
DA spokesman Jake Wark says none of the full-body recoveries have been tied to foul play and that there's no connection between any of them:
Investigators don't believe the deaths are connected in any way. As with many of these cases, the only common factor is the presence of water. A person who falls into the water for whatever reason - accident, impairment, or what have you - is, for obvious reasons, simply more likely to die as a result than a person who falls on land.

Do the police think these bodies are somehow related? As anyone been identified?

Looks like it happened in an area where homeless people setup camp from time to time.

I don't know that area of the Muddy River, specifically. That doesn't seem surprising.

Foul play involved?

I dunno. I read people with theories about the Harbor or the Charles and I laugh, but I would like to know about the cause of death. Probably drunks falling in, but still, the Muddy isn't that deep for a long stretch.
For that matter, could these be old bodies disturbed by the work above the Fens?

A body found in a river, hmm I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this may be associated with the Mafia. Also to add that the Patriarca Crime Family has moved their headquarters from Providence to Boston over the past couple years..
The Mafia?

The one that's reduced to running illegal video poker machines? And you did see the part about the DA's office saying there's no indication foul play was involved in any of the deaths?
Exactly what a DA with Mafia ties would say

Come on, Adam. Don't you know Boston is a gritty, crime-ridden town full of organized crime and corrupt officials?

And this line from Jack Wark is the best-
Classic.
Still, the Muddy River seems to be an odd place to just fall in and not recover. Impairment, IMHO, would probably be key.

The mob is up and running and stronger than ever . So dont be fooled by the feds saying they have it under control. Remember cops are human and those envelopes full of money just keep coming
Even they have more sense

The thing is, though, that part of the Muddy River is about four feet deep. If someone wanted to dump a body where no one would see it for a long time, they'd have been better off putting it in a North Station bathroom stall.

After reading this, I reread it again only with a very passive voice in my head because honestly....I felt like this article was basically saying.....
Oh..don't worry we find dead bodies here ALL the time, and sometimes we even find body parts! But, this is nothing new, we've found three since March, so it's a very popular spot for dead folk to be discovered. We are positive that these deaths are NOT related(we are pretty sure they are not mob hits)we think it's just either suicides or just stupidity.
And just so you ALL know.....you have a better chance of living, if you fall on land, if you fall in WATER....you could drowned!! So, remember that the next time you are suicidal OR just REALLY drunk!

No doubt the Bowker Overpass made him do it. He was devastated by the loss of Olmsted's original design of the Fens and decided to snuff it. Another yuppie bites the dust.
