Boston Police report arresting a pair of alleged thieves who made off with $4,000 worth of sunglasses from the Prudential Center Mall before being arrested behind a parked car a few blocks away where they were trying in vain to hide from officers looking for them. Read more.

The Boston Fire Department reports that around 3:45 p.m., firefighters responded to a report of a car fire on the turnpike in the Pru tunnel - which sent smoke into the first floor of Copley Place - and found the flaming car and two separate crashes, one involving six cars, the other two cars.

Prudential building through snow-covered trees

Statue in front of the Pru

Good news for folks with some Quest love. Photo by Alexandra Molnar.

First a tot lot on Beacon Hill got a bronze statue of a turtle (since moved into the shade so it no longer burns little kids). Now Smith Playground in Allston will be getting the 27-foot-tall "Quest Eternal" statue of a naked man reaching for the stars, or perhaps a towel, that was posed in front of the Boylston Street side of the Prudential Center until 2014. Giant pothole in Pru tunnel

State Police report crews closed off a lane on the Pru exit ramp off the turnpike after this sinkhole erupted but not before, WBZ reports, it chewed its way through the tires of several cars.

Mario Batali,will be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court Friday on a charge of indecent assault and battery for allegedly groping a woman at the now closed Towne restaurant at the Prudential Center in 2017, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. Read more.
