A Dorchester Municipal Court judge released State Trooper Matthew Hickey with no bail at his arraignment today on charges of assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon stemming from a fight outside Dorset Hall on Neponset Avenue on Dec. 1, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. A sleepless citizen complains:
Our neighborhood is being woken up from crashing sounds. Huge booms. We thought it was construction materials bring dropped off. One neighbor thinks it is the sound of dumpsters being emptied. It's messing with our sleep on a regular basis. Today was 5:40 am some days are as early as 4:15. Minot Street residents must be dealing with this, too. Please, this can't continue.
This just in from one of our Dorchester correspondents: If you live along Neponset Avenue near St. Ann's and own a young, slender black cat, but it seems to be missing, you might want to check with the Emmerson Animal Hospital - our correspondent reports the cat, which had a collar but no tag, was hit by a car and that her boyfriend, who spotted the injured kitty, picked it up and brought it to the vet.
