Boston Police report arresting Tyler Baker, 36, on charges he's the guy who ran up to a woman and punched her in the head for no reason outside the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute on Jimmy Fund Way on Oct. 5.

Baker was charged with aggravated assault and battery, police say.

Innocent, etc.

Update: Suspect charged.

Boston Police report they are looking for a man they say ran up to a woman standing outside the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute on Jimmy Fund Way and punched her in the right side of her head, around 10 a.m. on Monday. Read more.

The cancer center reports it now has less than a day's worth of O-negative blood and is looking for folks with that type who could make a donation.

The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is suing a Japanese researcher it says patented a promising method for battling cancer that is based on work by researchers at Dana-Farber and Genetics Institute in Cambridge. A Japanese drug company and Bristol-Myers Squibb are also named. Read more.

The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute says rights to the novel chemical invented by Dr. Nathanael Gray actually belong to pharmaceutical giant Novartis, in a lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Boston yesterday.

Novartis and Dana-Farber have a research-funding agreement in which Novartis gets first dibs on any potential anti-cancer agents developed by Dana-Farber researchers who have agreed to take Novartis money.

Kate Jackson recounts a day of chemotherapy at Dana-Farber on a holiday:

For round 2 of the red death, we scored a window seat away from the main row; a safe haven from front desk gawkers and wandering, spaced-out chaplains. Instead of viewing patients filling out forms, we look upon blue skies and the interconnecting rooftops of JP and Brookline. It's like a Lisa Daria painting.

James and I are setting up shop with our laptops, books, mags and other articles of distraction when our chemo "neighbors" show up. They are an older couple who move in ways that suggest they've been doing this for a while. They immediately -- and mercifully -- draw the curtain. "Not that we don't like you guys," the gentlemen says from his side. "That's fine," we say from ours.

We're just glad someone took the initiative. We're still unsure of the protocol on who draws the curtain first. ...
