I just got an invitation to Tito Jackson's birthday party at the House of Blues. Something about Michael Jackson vs. Prince. Sounds like fun. The trouble is, you've got to give a little birthday present. It reminds me of Kevin White's "suggested contribution" to his wife's birthday party. Tito must be serious about running for Mayor! http://tinyurl.com/3dplmkq

For the second time this year, the House of Blues is before the Boston Licensing Board for a toking performer - this time for one who took a drag onstage then passed her joint to front-row fans.

The board decides Thursday what action, if any, to take against the music hall for the Aug. 17 sharing by Crystal Castles lead singer Alice Glass. At issue is not the exact nature of the material in the lit item as the fact she was lighting up at all in violation of the state's ban on smoking in indoor public places.

For the second time in a month, the House of Blues faces possible penalties from the Boston Licensing Board, this time for a Feb. 15 incident in which a Boston officer found an underage BC student drinking a beer she got with somebody else's out-of-state license.

Last month, the board ordered the House of Blues to shut for three days because fire inspectors found partially blocked exits during a show. The music hall will shut June 6, 7 and 8.
