The conversion of the Government Center garage into a large mixed-use complex will require the temporary relocation of the Haymarket bus terminal and might require the shutdown of the Green and Orange Line stations underneath that, state transportation planners say. But HYM, the company that has started tearing down the garage for a six-building complex with 800 residential units, a 200-room hotel, 1 million square feet of office space and 82,000 square feet of retail space, says it is not expecting any complete shutdown of the subway station: Read more.

Take shuttle bus, sign at Park says

Rajeeve Martyn was at Park when this sign post went up, he reports that "MBTA workers were surprised, too." The T says there's an unspecified wire problem at Haymarket that means no trolleys between North Station and Lechmere - and that it's re-set the signs at Park Street, since trains are running there.

Missing art at Haymarket

As roving UHub photographer Mark J. shows us, most of the bronze garbage embedded in the road at Haymarket was removed as part of construction work for the Haymarket hotel now going up, but the BPDA assures us that Mags Harries's work, officially known as "Asarotron, 1976," will be put back down, if not in the exact same spot, once the hotel is finished. Wanted

Boston Police report they are looking for these two guys for a beatdown that started around 10:44 p.m. on Aug. 25 on the downtown side of Hanover Street, then continued on the Rose Kennedy Greenway before they finally fled.

Boston and New York developers say they're on track to begin work this spring on a 265-room hotel on Blackstone Street between Hanover and North streets that will include upgrades to Blackstone Street - including a place for Haymarket vendors to stow trash. Read more.

A trolley died between Government Center and Haymarket and caused all sorts of grief for Green Line riders. The MBTA is currently reporting residual "minor" delays.
