National Development yesterday filed detailed plans and renderings of its proposed 21-story, $210-million residential, office and retail building at 323-345 Dorchester Ave., the first of several buildings it hopes to build on the roughly 5.4 acres it owns on that side of Dorchester Avenue, near the intersection with Old Colony Avenue. Avoid Lower Mills area if you can. Dot Ave at Gallivan Blvd is filled with smoke; Morton St blocked by police where Morton and Gallivan merge. At least three buildings burned according to reports. Many fire departments from all over metro area are heading to the fire or already there.

The BPDA board today approved changes to the four-acre Dot Block project to add more apartments - with less parking - at a meeting at which BPDA officials acknowledged that protesting Dorchester residents have a point about displacement in the surrounding area, even if they disagreed that Dot Block has anything to do with that.
