After reading the story and thinking about it I do not believe Cahill himself did anything wrong. What is out of whack and wrong with the system is that these politicians need so much money to run for office they do what they have to do to get money. They take money from people who they should avoid, even if its not illegal some of the people given them money should be told to scram. An additional layer to this story is that Cahill had a fundraiser thrown for him in Manhattan, Yoon had people fundraising in San Francisco, Im sure Deval Patrick was in Chicago at least once grabbing cash. I realize its freedom of speech, but that freedom of speech is actually taking away the rights and freedoms of people who do not have access to such large reserves. Its cases like this that show we really do need campaign finance reform, otherwise it will keep on happening.
