Truck wedged under an Orange Street bridge in Malden

Gordon Hallett shows us that yet another truck driver has learned a valuable lesson at the bridge that carries the Orange Line over Medford Street in Malden around noon today: That if a bridge has a sign reading 12'6", you better make sure your truck is a couple inches shorter than that, or you're going to get mocked mercilessly for storrowing a bridge. And a ticket.

Wanted for larceny at Oak Grove Orange Line station

Transit Police have released photos of a man they say made off with a backpack containing two laptops and other items from another person at the Oak Grove Orange Line station around 1:40 p.m. on Wednesday. Read more.

State Police report a search for a teen who'd been kidnapped and was calling 911 in Revere from the trunk of a moving car shortly before 6 p.m. ended after police realized it was the latest in a string of similar hoax calls. Read more.

Old and new Orange Line cars at Oak Grove

Richard Auffrey is a fan of Chinese soup dumplings, so he hied himself off to District Kitchen in Malden to try one of its super-sized soup dumplings - so large it comes with a straw to suck out the broth before you try to eat the thing. His conclusion: He's sticking to regular-sized dumplings.

Around 2:30 p.m., the T was reporting delays of up to 20 minutes on the Orange Line due to an outbound train with "a mechanical problem" near Malden Center bad enough to have the train after it called up to push it to Oak Grove.

Transit Police report arresting a Malden man (um, of course?) at the Oak Grove Orange Line station last night after he allegedly urinated on a parked Transit Police cruiser and then, with that out of his system, ripped off one of its license plates and tried to smash in a window.
