The Dedham Board of Health announced today the town has "a significant rise" in Covid-19 cases - 17 in the past week - and says most of the new cases are in young children and teens. Read more.

Fallon Ambulance is setting up a Covid-19 testing site at the bucolic Endicott Estate, 656 East St., now that the town has made the state's list of "red" towns, likely due to some local teenagers who couldn't resist partying like it was the Before Times. Read more.

Dedham has put off a Sept. 21 start date to resume limited in-school education, and will now be getting a three-day visit from a mobile Covid-19 testing unit now that the state has added the town to its list of communities with elevated testing numbers. Read more.

La Taqueria of Roslindale plans to open an outlet in Dedham on Monday, next to the uBreakiFix on Washington Street at the rotary with Boston Providence Highway. That's just up the street from El Centro and a couple blocks away from Pancho's Taqueria on High Street.

This will be La Taqueria's second outlet.

No ketchup

Every day, it seems like people look at the empty toilet-paper and chicken shelves at the Dedham Stop & Shop and go "Oh, no, what can I buy instead?!?" Today, the store was completely out of ketchup. Who knew ketchup was going to be in such high demand during an apocalypse?

The store was also completely out of frozen pizzas, except a few flatbread pizzas and "pizza" made out of cauliflower, which pretty much proves nobody wants that stuff.

Dedham Police report they are looking at links between a Monday robbery at one market off Sprague Street and a Thursday attempted robbery in which a clerk was shot at a gas station off Bridge Street. Read more.

Waiting at the Dedham Best Buy

The guy in the tent and the guy behind him said they'd arrived at the Dedham Best Buy at 10 p.m. on Wednesday to pick up some stuff for their families, in particular, AirPods and Playstations. At 11:45 p.m. on Thursday, the line, such as it was, didn't even reach to the end of the front of the store, unlike in years past, when it would stretch along the side of the building and curl around the back. A.C. Moore's parent company is closing all of the chain's outlets, including the one in the Dedham Mall. Some could become Michaels stores; no word on whether that includes the Dedham store.

Suspects in a Roslindale armed robbery this afternoon sped away and onto Rte. 128 before seeming to double back towards Boston on Rte. 109 in Dedham - where they abandoned the car on a side street, prompting local and State Police to flood the Riverdale area as they searched for them and told residents to stay inside.
