The MBTA begins another round of weekend diversions on the Orange Line, starting at 8:45 tonight. The work means no service between Sullivan Square and Tufts Medical Center until Monday morning. On the plus side: No weekend fares to ride the line.
Meanwhile the Lowell line is bussing as is the redline from Alewife to Kendell. So it sucks if you need to get into the city from points North.
Yes, the work needs to be done. Just wish they wouldn't suspend so much service at once.
And the Fitchburg line is again ending/starting at Porter for GLX work.
The Red Line shuttles are just from Alewife to Harvard. Except the trains are running this weekend due to the holiday.
Also not busing on Presidents' Day, St. Patrick's Day, and Patriots' Day weekends.
No weekend fares really help the commuters who already buy a pass but instead have to deal with shittier commutes because of shit infrastructure. Does nothing to quell the hatred of the MBTA.
so screw the MBTA since the services sucks cuz of the infrastructure but if they shut it down to fix the infrastructure, also screw the MBTA? damned if you do, damned if you don't, I guess
