UMass Memorial Medical Center reported this evening that one of its caregivers who went down to Washington "is no longer a part of our organization."
The hospital did not provide further details, but MassLive.com identified her as Therese Duke, arrested the night before the deadly Capitol riot for allegedly trying to grab the phone of a black woman who had been videoing Trump supporters protesting in the streets of Washington. Duke also got a bloody nose when the woman punched her.
She was first identified by her own daughter, after video of the fight went viral:
Stunned to see her mom, Helena decided to tweet about the video and identified her family members as the people in it. "hi mom remember the time you told me I shouldn't go to BLM protests bc they could get violent...this you?" she wrote.
H/t to anon for the additional links.
