Dart Adams provides some background on Davis's performance with the Pops in 1988:
Sammy Davis Jr. first came to Boston's South End/Lower Roxbury as a child and lived there for years with his father and his "uncle" Will Mastin as part of the Will Mastin Trio.

Sammy also played at Blinstrubs's in South Boston.
